The Georgia State RC Invitational
The 6 pack of RC racing

How the GSRCI works

Points and basic Schedules

1 - Individual Points

We will count the best 3 of 4 races, and at race 4 which will be the final race of the season we will award 1st, 2nd, 3rd for the series points in each class.

An individual award, "The Points Monster", for the racer in the series with the highest score across all races in all classes will be given! The more classes you run the better your odds of becoming the "Points Monster".

Scoring is simplified.

For each race/class, points will be assigned based on finishing position counting down from 100, with a 2 point gap behind each of the first three positions and one point thereafter. In other words, counting from 1st place finisher down, points are: 100, 98, 96, 94, 93,92,91, etc. 1 bonus point will be awarded for TQ, and the maximum possible points are 1st + TQ = 101. If you pay and run at least one qualifier, you do not need to turn a lap in your main to receive points. Your points would be as the computer records them... as the last finisher in the main for which you qualified.

Points management is brought to you by:

Scoring for Monster Trucks is a little different and basically all you need to know is that all Standard Monster Truck points wise counts more than any other class in the races for City Points and in the race for the Point Monster.

It pays to play with Monster Trucks in the GSRCI!

2 - City Points and the tracks

Each individual's race points go toward their home city (of the three Invitational cities).  The only exception to this rule is when an individual races in the series but does not have a home city or track in the series.  This will make that persons points count towards the host city/tracks points for that race.  If that person races in all races then his points go to each city/track that hosts those races he attends.

The city points race is a 5 race series as finals will not count in the totals.

3 - Mains

We're implementing a 15 minute minimum main time, with exception if we are required to run 3 or 4 cars (would be a 10 minute main). We expect to roll a 3 or 4 car main into the next race up, however... generally, all mains should run 15 or more minutes.

4 - Sportsman Bump

Slight change to the criteria for bumping people from Sportsman to Expert Buggy. It used to be 1/2 way into the B-Main, which did not allow adjustment when the Expert class is very large. The new rule will be as follows: "Any sportsman driver whose best qualifier would place them halfway or higher in the Expert roster after 3 qualifiers will be moved to the Expert class."

This rule has exceptions to it to allow for an over all fast Sportsman class and should be handled accordingly by the GSRCI officials and the track/race directors.  The following considerations can be used for examples in heat races only.

Example 01:  If 1 racer is lapping the field or consistently blowing the rest of the Sportsman field away and his times are placing him half way or higher in the Expert class roster...he's getting a bump.

Example 02:  If 1-3 racers are blowing the Sportsman class away consistently as a whole and their times are placing them half way or higher in the Expert roster...they are getting a bump.

Example 03:  If the top of the Sportsman class is fast enough that their times are half way or higher in the Expert roster...but the class is close in a general opinion then it would be likely that...they would not get a bump.

5 - Classes

The Gas Truck class will be opened to electric 2WD trucks. Likewise, electric truggies and buggies WILL BE allowed in their respective classes. Note that the GT main will be 20 minutes long, and all electric 2WD entries should be capable of running for this duration (or plan a battery swap). All electric 2WD trucks will be required to take a “pit stop” (pull in to pit lane, lifted, set back down, continue) in any main more than 10 minutes long. Similar rules will be in place for any 1/8th electrics as well.

A Traxas Slash or Slayer class can be created if the presence and demand for it is in place.
